Sound familiar?

Turn enquiries into quoted, scheduled and completed jobs.

Quotes go out and nobody follows up

Quotes go out and never get a second call, and the work goes to the next tradie who rings back.

Site details live in someone’s head

Access codes, the dog in the backyard, the switchboard location: lost when the van changes hands.

Urgent callouts get mixed with routine jobs

A burst pipe sits in the same inbox as a quote request.

How it works for trades & home services

A typical week with the Trades & home services setup. Every name below is exactly what you’ll see in the app.

  1. Enquiries arrive with the right details

Records are named the way you talk: customers, sites and jobs. Each new job has room for job type, quote number, preferred date and urgent callout. There are also fields for service address on customers and access notes on sites.
  2. Jobs move through your pipeline

    1. New enquiry
    2. Site visit
    3. Quote sent
    4. Approved
    5. Scheduled
Drag each job to the next stage on the board, with its value, owner and next step in view. New ones can start from ready-made templates: “Repair job” and “Quote request”.
  3. Quote it and win it

Build quotes from your price list with GST worked out, send them for acceptance and keep the accepted version on the job.
  4. Customers ask for help

    • Job enquiryA customer wants a quote or a visit for new work.Normal
    • Warranty callbackA customer reports a problem with completed work.High priority
    • Urgent calloutLeaks, outages or safety issues that need someone today.Urgent
Each request gets an owner, a response target and a full history. Customers can raise them by email or from their own portal.
  5. Reply in a click

Ready-made replies come with it: “Job enquiry received” and “Job complete”. Each one fills in the person’s first name and can be edited before it’s sent.
    Job enquiry receivedHi Sam,

Thanks for getting in touch. We've received your enquiry and will be in touch to arrange a time to quote or visit.
  6. Follow-ups happen on their own

    • Follow up with a new customer. Create a next-day task linked to the new customer.
    • Qualify every new enquiry. Create an immediate high-priority task linked to the new customer enquiry and notify the team.
    • Review a trade quote before sending. After a quote is created, assign a same-day checklist task linked to its customer and job.
    • Prepare a project from accepted trade work. When a project is created, assign a next-day handoff checklist linked to the project, customer and job.

The quote that never got sent

Sam quotes a deck on the back of a napkin, and the job goes to someone else. Here’s what changes when every quote is sent, tracked and followed up.

What happens in the film

Sam quotes a deck on a napkin and it goes missing. The customer texts “any news on the deck quote?” and later “we went with someone else”. With NovaSoft One, Sam sends a proper quote with GST included; it’s accepted and the job is won. No more lost quotes.

Animated with fictional businesses. Music, with captions in the picture.

A worked example

From first contact to finished work

A customer calls about a leaking hot-water system. It’s logged as a New enquiry with the service address and the Urgent callout box ticked, so the team sees it first. After a Site visit, the quote goes out with GST and the job moves to Quote sent. When the customer says yes it’s Approved, then Scheduled for their preferred date. The new system goes into Service assets with its serial number and warranty expiry. If something isn’t right three months later, it comes back as a Warranty callback, not a new job.

Questions about NovaSoft One for trades & home services

Still unsure? Read every question or start free and look around.

Can I keep site access notes and service addresses?

Yes. Customers get a Service address and sites get Access notes, so whoever turns up has the details.

Does it do job costing or route planning?

No. NovaSoft One handles enquiries, quotes, scheduling of work and customer history. It doesn’t optimise routes, cost jobs or manage multi-visit field-service jobs.

Can customers send me photos of the problem?

Yes, on Starter and above. Customers can raise a job enquiry, warranty callback or urgent callout from the customer portal and attach photos.

Can I change what the trades & home services setup creates?

Yes. Stages, fields, record names, saved views and automations are a starting point. Rename, add or switch off anything in Customisation, and your records stay where they are.

Can I bring my existing customers across?

Yes. Import a spreadsheet of contacts, companies or leads in the Data Hub, map the columns, check the preview and commit. Possible duplicates are flagged before anything is created.

What does it cost?

Free for up to two people with the core CRM. Industry starting points come with Professional at A$39 per user per month, excluding GST, billed monthly with no lock-in.

Good to know

Does not provide a linked field-service job and multi-visit lifecycle, route optimisation or job costing. Industry starting points use NovaSoft One’s existing customer records, pipelines, tasks, saved views and custom records, and are included on Professional plans and above.
