Customer management

Tasks and activity

Turn a customer commitment into visible work and keep an accountable timeline.

How it works

Make customer commitments visible

Turn a promise or next step into assigned work with a due date, then keep the outcome on the record it relates to. The activity timeline gives teammates a readable account of what was done.

01

What it covers

Assign tasks, track due dates and completion, and review the activities connected to the underlying record.

02

In practice

Review task ownership, deadlines, completion and related record activity together.

  1. Find the opportunity

Review the sales stages and search for Studio annual renewal.

  2. Review the deal

Open the opportunity to see its customer, value and stage, then select its Tasks tab.

  3. Add the follow-up

Create “Confirm renewal review with Jordan” and see the new task alongside the deal.

When to use it

Useful situations

  • Turn a promised callback into assigned work with a due date.
  • Leave a timeline another teammate can use to continue a customer conversation.
  • Review overdue and completed follow-ups tied to a customer or opportunity.

A working path

How the work moves

  1. Capture the next step

Create a task with a clear title, owner and due date, and link it to the relevant contact, lead or deal when that relationship matters. Keep the title focused on an action someone can complete.

  2. Work the queue

Use status, search and other task filters to focus on current work. Open a task to check its notes and linked customer context before marking it complete or changing its details.

  3. Leave a useful history

Record the outcome through the appropriate activity or task update on the underlying record. A concise note about what happened and what comes next helps prevent duplicate outreach.

Illustrative scenario

After a proposal review

A salesperson assigns a follow-up task for Friday, links it to the relevant contact and deal, then records the customer’s decision and next agreed date after the call.

Before you start

What to check

  • Task visibility and actions follow workspace permissions; assignment does not grant a person access to restricted modules.
  • A task is a reminder and accountability record, not an automatic message or proof that the customer was contacted.
