What it covers
Choose a supported lead time on an asset, keep reminders opt-in and direct the notification to its current team custodian or eligible administrators.
Documents and assets
Give an eligible teammate an in-app reminder before a recorded warranty expires.
How it works
Asset warranty reminders add a deliberate follow-up to the expiry date already recorded on an asset. An editor chooses a supported reminder lead time rather than turning on notifications for every item automatically. The scheduled check can notify an eligible assigned team member; when there is no eligible team assignee, it uses eligible workspace owners or administrators. The notification opens the exact asset, so the recipient can review the warranty details, condition and service context before deciding whether a repair or replacement conversation is needed.
Choose a supported lead time on an asset, keep reminders opt-in and direct the notification to its current team custodian or eligible administrators.
Current lead-time choices are seven, fourteen, thirty, sixty or ninety days before expiry. Existing assets remain opted out unless an editor enables a reminder. Delivery evidence prevents repeat notifications for the same recorded reminder identity.
When to use it
A working path
Open the exact asset and inspect its saved warranty expiry date and assignment. Confirm that the date represents the evidence your team intends to use before enabling a reminder; the system follows the recorded date rather than checking a vendor’s warranty database.
As an authorised Assets editor, select one of the supported reminder periods and save it with the asset. Give the recipient enough time to review the item and arrange any necessary service or purchase decision.
When the in-app reminder appears, open the linked asset and inspect its current condition and service context. Record the next action through normal asset or customer-work controls. The reminder supplies a prompt; it does not automatically extend a warranty or order a replacement.
Illustrative scenario
An editor sets a thirty-day reminder on a laptop assigned to a teammate. The eligible custodian receives an in-app notification before the recorded expiry and opens the asset to review a recurring fault with the service team.
